This report was produced by the What Works Centre for Wellbeing and Happy City for the National Lottery Community Fund to synthesise the existing evidence about what works in supporting people and communities to thrive. It offers a summary of what the evidence tells us about factors and interventions that influence a community’s capacity to thrive, based on four key areas: places and spaces, relationships and connections, people-led approaches and individual well-being and resilience. It also offers insight into where there are gaps in the evidence to inform future work.
I conducted the rapid qualitative evidence review to inform the research (see chapter 2, What helps a community to thrive? and Chapter 3, Focus on places and spaces).
